Jolly Literacy 1 - Reading Comprehension - Student Book
In 2025, the Jolly Grammar program was revised and re-named, `Jolly Literacy'. While much of the spelling, grammar and punctuation content remains the same, there are several new resources for teachers and students surrounding `Reading Comprehension' and `Writing Skills':
- Reading Comprehension and Writing Skills Teacher's Book
- Reading Comprehension Student Book and
- "Writing Skills" Workbook.
While Jolly Literacy will have six levels of learning, (as with Jolly Grammar), currently, only level 1 is available.
Please Note: Jolly Grammar materials remain compatible with the new program.
About: Reading Comprehension Student Book 1:
Reading Comprehension 1 Student Book is a full-colour, write-in workbook containing specially structured lessons to utilise, reinforce and extend the grammar and spelling covered in Jolly Phonics and Jolly Literacy; Spelling, Grammar & Punctuation.
The Student Book is an essential part of the new Reading Comprehension and Writing Skills program (Jolly Literacy), providing teachers with a full 36 weeks of unique units packed with activities to aid children in gaining deeper insights into what they read.
The units in Level 1 Student Book :
- Cover a variety of fiction and nonfiction texts for the children to listen to, read and analyse together.
- Contain purposeful activities and an engaging mix of photographic images and illustrations.
- Provide comprehension activities and questions specifically aimed at creating a greater depth of understanding and to develop fully engaged readers.
- Feature further reading suggestions and extension activities.
- Come with step-by-step lesson plans and fully structured support, provided in the Comprehension and Creative Writing Teacher’s Book.
